Camping Essentials is part of Scotland’s leading independent, family-run outdoor retailer (Summits Outdoor). We have supplied our UK customers with high-quality, competitively-priced outdoor equipment from major brands for over 40 years. With our Camping Essentials website, we have focused on bringing you the best equipment for your camping holidays. Whether you find yourself on top of a hill for a star gazing camp or on a sun-setting beach for a relaxing week away, you can be assured that we can provide all the camping equipment necessary to make that the best trip yet.
Our aims are fairly simple - to provide fast reliable service to customers all over the UK mainland and islands (next-day delivery for mainland UK if ordered before 2 pm, although Highlands and Islands can take 1-3 days but Royal Mail are on top form at being fast these days!). To provide quality products at competitive prices and a first-class after-sales service if required. We are a team of dedicated outdoor users and you can buy from us with confidence.
Our Camping Essentials Website aims to bring you a range of equipment our staff, the Summiteers, use on all of their outdoor adventures. Based in Scotland, there's probably not a corner we have not explored or visited with boots, bikes and tents. We will be adding to our Camping Map weekly with updates on where our Summiteers have been and what outdoor equipment they used to make it an ideal escape.
Our main highlight is one of our original Summiteers who used to work for us. Lorraine McCall has set off on the first continuous Grahams round, all 231 of them! These are Scottish Mountains with tops between 610m (2000ft) and 762m (2499ft)). With such an epic adventure ahead of her, we have sponsored Lorraine to help her achieve this unique and challenging goal. This will be the first recorded time that anyone has achieved this goal, so we couldn't be prouder of our Summiteer taking this challenge on. Her 4-month round trip will be shared here on our Camping Map. You can filter to see where our Summiteers are or even to just see our updates on Lorraine's progress.
